In plants, in response to phosphate deficiency in soil, miR399, a type of microRNA (miRNA), is up-regulated. By detecting miR399, the early diagnosis of phosphorus deficiency stress in plants can be accomplished. However, general miRNA detection methods require complicated experimental manipulations. 家庭寮新入寮生が4月2日（火）に入寮しました。 在寮生の先輩方は 入寮時間は始業式のため不在でしたが、在寮生が帰寮すると、早速同じフロアーの先輩が寮生活についていろいろと教えていました。 今年度は入寮日の4月2日より1号館の皆さんは自炊が始まりました。 入寮初日のメニューはカレーライスです。 家庭寮では、自炊初日は在寮生の先輩が、食材の配給方法、台所の使用方法等を教えながら、新入寮生のお部屋で一緒に夕食作りを行います。 写真は、1号館での自炊の様子です。 おいしいカレーが完成したようです。 2号館の皆さんは、食堂での夕食となります。 皆さん、黙食での夕食となりますが、おいしく夕食をいただいておりました。 夕食後は、新入寮生オリエンテーションを行い、寮生活についての説明を生活指 ...

タイトル: Seasonal diet partition among top predators of a small island, Iriomote Island in the Ryukyu Archipelago, Japan著者: Tobe, Alisa; Sato, Yukuto; Wachi, Nakatada; Nakanishi, Nozomi; Izawa, Masako抄録: Small islands tend to lack predators because species at higher trophic levels often cannot survive. However, two exceptional top predators—the Iriomote cat Prionailurus bengalensis iriomotensis, and the Crested Serpent Eagle Spilornis cheela perplexus—live on the small Iriomote Island in the Ryukyu Archipelago. To understand how these predators coexist with limited resources, we focused on their seasonal diets between which conflicts are considered to occur. To compare the diets, we used DNA metabarcoding analysis of faecal samples. In the summer, we identified 16 unique prey items from Iriomote cat faecal samples and 15 unique prey items from Crested Serpent Eagle faecal samples. タイトル: An extension of the Floquet-Bloch theory to nilpotent groups and its applications (Recent Developments in Representation Theory and Related Topics)著者: Katsuda, Atsushi抄録: The Floquet-Bloch theory is a popular tool for the investigation of materials with periodic structures. For example, one can show that the spectrum of periodic Schrödinger operators have band structures. In the context of this note, this theory was applied to the following problems in the case of abelian extensions: (1) A geometric analogue of the Chebotarev density theorem for prime closed geodesics in a compact Riemannian manifold with negative curvature (2) A long time asymptotic expansion of the heat kernels of covering manifolds of compact Riemannian manifolds. Here we show that protein arginine N-methyltransferase 6 (Prmt6) forms a chimeric transcript with MT2B2, one of the long terminal repeat sequences of murine endogenous retrovirus with leucine tRNA primer, and is translated into an elongated chimeric protein ([MT2B2]PRMT6) whose function differs from that of the canonical PRMT6 protein ([CAN]PRMT6) in mouse preimplantation embryos. タイトル: Seedless and electroless plating of silver on silica particles by using microreactor著者: Maw, San San; Watanabe, Takeshi; Miyahara, Minoru T.; Watanabe, Satoshi抄録: Synthesis of silver nanoshells is still a challenge especially in the absence of surface modification of core particles and/or metal seed decoration on core surfaces. In this study, we applied a microrector to seedless and electroless plating of silver on bare silica particles, and investigated the effects of reaction temperatures and silver ion concentrations on the morphology and surface coverage of silver on the core particle surface. Our experiments demonstrated that the use of the microreactor enabled the one-step direct deposition of silver with a morphology close to complete shells and that silver ion concentrations from 0.2 to 0.5 mM at a moderate temperature of 50 °C produced high coverage and yield.
