タイトル: From Silent to Authoritarian Revolution: Modi, Hindu Rashtra and the Paradox of Indian Democracy著者: Nakamizo, Kazuya抄録: India is currently undergoing an authoritarian revolution. During the 10 years of Narendra Modi's rule, liberal aspects of India's democracy were attacked by malpractices and the institutionalization of illiberal laws under his government. Additionally, the freedom of the media has been seriously damaged by the arrests of journalists who have criticized Modi's government, which was, in particular, enabled by the amendment of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in 2019. The nation-wide anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was crushed by the sudden declaration of the All-India Lockdown under the guise of an anti-COVID-19 measure, which I have termed the practice of “Disaster Authoritarianism”. After the crackdown on the anti-CAA movement, its participants were arrested under the provisions of a renewed UAPA. These are representative ...
タイトル: 夢の形而上学著者: 山名, 諒; 藤山, 拓夢抄録: Philosophers have traditionally taken a skeptical approach to discussing dreams. We take a different approach. Our objectives are twofold: first, to illuminate the intriguing characteristics of dreams; and second, to suggest that these characteristics provide insights into philosophical issues related to the world, self, and identity. In the first section, we examine why dreams are worlds. Often expressed as “dream world, ” dreams can be seen as worlds different from this world. Distinguishing between time-as-structure and time-as-history, we argue that dreams can be seen as distinct worlds by possessing the latter. In the second section, we discuss the identification of objects in dreams. Kenji Tsuchiya claims that we can know the identity of dream-characters without observation. While appreciating Tsuchiya’s insight, we note that his analysis overlooks a unique aspect of dreams. In the third section, we ...
タイトル: クオリアの言及不可能性について著者: 入角, 晃太郎抄録: I am supposed to be able to speak on my senses. However, given that my current language was originally imposed on me by others, it is not plausible that I can use that language in a discourse about my senses. In my opinion, communicating in that language with others on the one hand, and talking about this pain of mine on the other, comprise a serious contradiction. My monologue has similarlities with Hitoshi Nagai’s theory of 〈I〉 regarding conversations with others. This is one solution to the said contradiction. However, in this paper, I explores a solution other than Nagai’s. In the “theory of language manners” presented in this paper, language is viewed as being exclusively used for communication, and my senses are not actually articulated in this language. To prove this, this paper begins by discussing how language acquisition takes place. However, it is not the purpose of this pa ...
