Better topographic data are required to assess catchment hydrology, flood/inundation propagation, and sediment transport/deposition. Ground-based surveys (i.e., topographic and bathymetry) and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) are expensive in terms of cost and time. We rely mostly on space-borne DEMs when the area of interest is quite large. And, for river cross-sections at specific regions, ground-based surveys are conducted at some regular intervals. The protons of 24 GeV/c were injected onto a 50-cm-thick copper target and the released neutrons were streamed through a maze with several corridor-legs horizontally designed with the shield walls in the facility. タイトル: Frequency Mixing of Elastic Waves at a Nonlinear Spring-Type Interface著者: Biwa, Shiro; Takahashi, Takuya抄録: Nonlinear frequency mixing of elastic waves, i.e., the generation of sum- and difference-frequency components by the interaction of two waves of different frequencies, is currently attracting active attention in the field of nondestructive testing as a means to characterize closed defects in structural components. In this study, a nonlinear spring-type interface model, characterized by two linear stiffness parameters and three nonlinearity parameters, is used to analyse the frequency mixing of two monochromatic plane longitudinal waves incident on an interface between two linear elastic bodies. A perturbation technique is used to linearize the problem of analyzing the reflection/transmission of the fundamental components and the generation/radiation of the sum- and difference-frequency components at the interface. タイトル: 真空内微小液滴への重イオン照射システムの開発: 重イオン誘起反応の質量分析学的研究著者: 間嶋, 拓也抄録: A new experimental system that enables mass spectrometric studies of secondary ions emitted from microdroplet surfaces has been developed to investigate the complex reaction processes included by MeV-energy heavy ions on liquid surfaces. In particular, coincidence measurements with forward-scattered ions provide and negative secondary ions. In addition, the penetration length of projectile ions in droplet targets was evaluated from the amount of energy loss of the forward-scattered ions. The results propose the existence of unknown “submicron effects”, such as a variation in the mass distribution and kinetic energy of secondary ions in the submicron scale. This review article presents a detail of the experimental system and examples of the results demonstrated with ethanol droplets.
