以下の資料に「関目神社」に関する記載が見つかりました。(1) 『城東区史』(木村 武夫/編集 城東区史編纂委員会 1974)「第四章 城東区の文化 第二節 宗教 一 神社」のp.441「関目神社」の項に「当社は関目町四丁目にあり、須佐之男尊を祭神とし、かつては須佐之男尊神社と称した。創建年月は不詳だが、天正八年(一五八〇)豊臣秀吉が大阪築城の際、防備の一つとして敵兵の進軍を俯瞰し、その軍容兵数を察知するのに便利なように、関目より古市・森小路の間十余町道路を特に数回屈折させ(俗にこの道路を七曲りと云う)、同時に鬼門鎮護の神として毘沙門天王・牛頭天王を勧請して、小祠を建立したのが起源とされる。」とあります。(2) 国立国会図書館デジタルコレクション『大阪史蹟辞典』(三善貞司 編 清文堂出版 1986.7）（国立国会図 ...
