瀬下家のあった三塚村は、『角川日本地名大辞典20 長野県』角川書店 1990 【291.03/カド/20】 p.1056によると、江戸期の初めは小諸藩領、元和8年徳川忠長領、寛永9年幕府領、慶安4年甲府藩領、元禄14年幕府領、宝永元年三河奥殿藩領、 文久3年田野口藩領、明治元年竜岡藩領と領主が次々変わった地域で、現在は、佐久市となっている。 また、『角川日本姓氏歴史人物大辞典20 長野県』角川書店 1996 【N288/158】 p.816「瀬下」では、中世、佐久郡に所領を持った武田部将に瀬下氏がある。下総国結城（茨城県）を中心に、鎌倉・室町時代にわたって繁栄した藤原姓結城氏の子孫。その一族が上野国（群馬県）甘楽郡瀬下荘に移り住んで瀬下氏を称したという。武田信玄の上野進攻で配下となり、以来武田氏の一将として信州に入ったものと思われる ...
