タイトル: Probing neuronal activity with genetically encoded calcium and voltage fluorescent indicators著者: Sakamoto, Masayuki; Yokoyama, Tatsushi抄録: Monitoring neural activity in individual neurons is crucial for understanding neural circuits and brain functions. The emergence of optical imaging technologies has dramatically transformed the field of neuroscience, enabling detailed observation of large-scale neuronal populations with both cellular and subcellular resolution. This transformation will be further accelerated by the integration of these imaging technologies and advanced big data analysis. Genetically encoded fluorescent indicators to detect neural activity with high signal-to-noise ratios are pivotal in this advancement. In recent years, these indicators have undergone significant developments, greatly enhancing the understanding of neural dynamics and networks. This review highlights the recent progress in genetically encoded calcium and voltage indicators and ...

タイトル: Integration test of biaxially rotational dynamic-radiation therapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma: Efficacy evaluation and dosimetric analysis著者: Hiraoka, Shinya; Hirashima, Hideaki; Nakamura, Mitsuhiro; Tanaka, Fumiya; Adachi, Hiroki; Ono, Yuka; Ono, Tomohiro; Nakashima, Ryota; Nakajima, Aya; Mizowaki, Takashi抄録: Background and Purpose: OXRAY is a new O-ring-shaped radiotherapy system delivering biaxially rotational dynamic-radiation therapy (BROAD-RT), a technique that enables non-coplanar volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) for large target volumes without requiring couch movement. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the benefits of BROAD-RT and to perform an integration test to confirm the plan deliverability and its accuracy from the treatment planning system to OXRAY for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods and Materials: We compared treatment plans for BROAD-RT and coplanar VMAT (COVMAT) created in RayStation for 15 patients with nasophar ...
Diverse synaptic mechanisms underlying learning and memory consolidation

タイトル: Diverse synaptic mechanisms underlying learning and memory consolidation著者: Murai, Yuki; Goto, Akihiro抄録: Memory consolidation is defined as the process by which labile short-term memories are stabilized and transformed into persistent long-term memories. This process relies heavily on synaptic plasticity, particularly long-term potentiation and depression (LTP and LTD, respectively), which have been extensively investigated in previous studies. The advent of optical tools that allow the observation and manipulation of LTP and LTD in vivo has advanced our understanding of their roles in learning and memory consolidation. In addition to LTP and LTD, recent research has indicated the presence of a more rapid plasticity mechanism, termed behavioral timescale synaptic plasticity (BTSP), which is crucial for encoding space and context. Sharp-wave ripples and sleep also play indispensable roles in memory consolidation, with some studies alternately linking them to LTP a ...
